Free State baseball extends win streak to 10 games

The win streak has now reached double digits.

Free State’s baseball team started off a busy week with a 7-2 victory over Olathe Northwest Monday night. The Firebirds (10-2, 7-0 Sunflower League) have now won 10 games in a row since dropping their first two contests of the season.

Jack Kallenberger led the offensive attack with three of the team’s nine hits. He was also credited with two RBIs, notching two doubles in the process. Creighton Cordova finished with two hits, including a double.

David Stuart got the nod, allowing two runs off four hits over four frames. Ethan Bradford pitched three scoreless innings of relief, surrendering just one hit.

Free State will turn its attention to the River City Festival, playing three games in as many days in Lawrence. FSHS will face Jefferson City (Mo.) at 6 p.m. Thursday at Hoglund Ballpark.
