Baylor 8, Whitwell 1. Baylor pitcher Syd Berzon struck out 18 batters, leading the Raider softball team to an 8-1 win over Whitwell Tuesday. The freshman allowed only three hits in the complete game, and added a hit of her own at the plate.
Berzon had plenty of support from the Baylor offense.
Sophie Piskos and Brinley Garrison had two hits apiece, including a double and two RBI each, Acelynn Sellers was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Macy Ann McKnight and Emily Rye added two hits each, and Makayla Packer had a hit, stole a base, and scored two runs.
Baylor, 19-2, hosts Brentwood Academy in a region game Thursday.
