Wednesday Round-up: Lady ‘Landers take win at Grand Strand Classic

Cloudland 9, Pann State (NY) 5 (softball)
Cloudland jumped out early and never looked back in their first game in Myrtle Beach.

Karah Fields led the way as she went 4-for-4 at the plate, while Kaylen Fields tallied two hits for CHS. Heaven Caraway, Jasmine Birchfield, Krisi Bare, Taylor Hicks, Leah Birchfield, Gracie Cook and Gracie Freeman each had a hit.

Kenzi Birchfield limited Pann to just seven hits to pick up the win.


Brecksville-Broadview Heights (OH) 13, Unaka 3 (softball)
The Lady Rangers were unable to overcome an early deficit on Wednesday in Myrtle Beach.

Alana Parsons, Erika Potter, Lilie Kiser and Sarah Elliott each recorded a hit for Unaka. In the circle, Sadie Shoun allowed just six earned runs, while Kailey Wilson allowed two earned runs.

Sullivan East 17, Happy Valley 2 (baseball)
Happy Valley continued to battle but was unable to get anything going against Sullivan East on Wednesday.

After Sullivan East plated two runs in the home side of the first, Happy Valley cut the advantage with a run of their own in the top of the second. The Patriots, however, countered with seven runs and never looked back.

The Warriors saw Jacob Absher and Charlie Smith each record a hit in the game.
