Mackenzie Patterson threw a three-hit shutout and Madalyn Smith had three hits, including two doubles, and scored twice as the Lady Owls (15-9, 6-4) clobbered McMinn County, 10-0.
Patterson, who gave up singles to the Lady Cherokees’ Taylor Hancock, Ashley Baxter and Emily Baxter, struck out one and walked one.
Cheyanne Sales smacked a home run and had two RBIs while Addy Keylon also homered while driving in a run and scoring one. Madalyn Mills banged out three hits in three at-bats, with two doubles and scored twice. Aubrey Smith was 2 for 3, including a triple, with two RBIs and Alyssa White added two hits, both doubles, two RBIs and scored a run.
East Hamilton 2, Cleveland 0: Syerra Rogers threw a two-hit shutout and struck out nine as the Lady Hurricanes improved to 19-12 overall and 6-5 in District 5-3A.
Reese Knox went 3 for 3 for half of East Hamilton’s hits. Syerra Rogers belted a home run. The Lady Canes scored in the fifth and seventh innings.
Cleveland dropped to (12-14, 3-8) this season.
