The Baylor boys soccer team won a key region game on Tuesday beating John Paul II 6-2.
John Musick led Baylor with three goals. Andrew Hill had three assists. Ethan Nunes, Nathan Webb and Andrew Will also scored for Baylor who led 4-0 at the half.
"After the first 15 minutes, we did a really good job of moving the ball," Baylor head coach Curtis Blair said. "Once we started to moved the ball it opened up passing lanes for us. Anytime you can go on the road and get a good result in our region is huge."
Baylor's Charlie Hooks had two saves in the goal. Baylor improves to 8-4-1 overall and 3-1 in the region.
The Bucs of Boyd-Buchanan secured a regular season district championship on Tuesday with a 2-0 win over visiting CCS. Hayes Wood and Sam Bruner scored for Boyd-Buchanan with both goals coming in the first half.
"CCS is obviously a great team and Gene does a great job," Boyd-Buchanan's Dustin Walker said after the game. "We got beat at Dalton last week and we have been talking about getting that passion back and I think the guys responded well tonight."
Boyd-Buchanan is now 9-2-2 on the season and will host Cookeville for senior night on Thursday. CCS travels to East Hamilton on Thursday and will be the second seed going into the district tournament next week.
