Bryn Tucker, Catholic's offensive lineman, sustained a left knee injury Friday in a scrimmage against Oakland. Tucker, who committed to Clemson in March, is the No. 8 recruit in Tennessee in the class of 2020, according to 247Sports Composite.

When asked what initial test results indicate, Tucker said, "maybe MCL, but we don't know for sure yet."  He will have an MRI on Tuesday, which will reveal the extent of the damage.

Tucker, who is 6-foot-5, 305-pounds, committed to Clemson after narrowing his final schools to Virginia Tech, Tennessee and the Tigers. Tucker said he has plenty of time to recover for the upcoming season, pointing out he has three months before the Irish's season starts.

Catholic's first game is Aug. 23 at Catholic against Chuckey-Doak. This will be Catholic's first season playing in Division II-AAA.

Catholic's Bryn Tucker (55) runs onto the field during a football game between Maryville and Catholic at Catholic High School in Knoxville, Tennessee on Friday, August 17, 2018.
