CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Rossview Boys Soccer advanced to the Region 7AAA Final for the second year in a row after a nail-biting game that ended 7-4 with a goal from Jacobo Rodriguez and a set of hat-tricks for Cameron Carroll and Alessandro Papa.

The Hawks soared to a three to zero lead in the first fifteen minutes with goals from Carroll and  Papa. The blistering, one-touch counter attack by Rossview was stopped in it’s tracks after being reduced to 10-men from a soft red card in the 20th minute.

After a series of quick goals from Cordova High School, the score was level 3-3 with 20 minutes remaining in the second half. Riding the momentum, Cordova quickly turned the game around and drove a dagger through the Hawks hopes of a back-to-back region final appearance with a last minute goal. The home side quickly reset the ball and caught Cordova out with a brilliant goal at the final whistle of regulation.

In extra time, Rossview’s fitness, teamwork, and heart proved stronger after scoring two quick goals in the first half of regulation. Rodriguez put the game away with the seventh and final goal for the home-side.

Rossview plays the region final at Rossview High School at 6 PM on Wednesday.
