Overton, Sr.

Position: Midfielder

Why chosen: Thang scored 11 goals and had 13 assists in 15 games for a team that started the season 15-0.

Nominees for player of the year

Hunter Bossman

Independence, Sr.

Position: Defender

Why chosen: The Lipscomb signee was the District 12-AAA defensive player of the year and top defender for the Eagles.

Cameron Carroll

Rossview, Sr.

Position: Forward

Why chosen: The ETSU signee and District 13-AAA offensive MVP scored 24 goals and had 11 assists for the Class AAA state quarterfinalists.

Henry Hylbert

MBA, Sr.

Position: Midfielder

Why chosen: Hylbert scored 14 goals and had 12 assists for the Division II-AA state runner-up Big Red.

Sam Khomtchenko

Brentwood, Sr.

Position: Midfielder

Why chosen: The Rhodes signee and District 12-AAA MVP scored seven goals with nine assists. He had three game-winning goals.

Brandon Parrish

Fairview, Jr.

Position: Forward

Why chosen: The Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year and Clemson commitment scored 38 goals and had 11 assists.

Harrison Rody

CPA, Sr.

Position: Defender 

Why chosen: The Wright State signee was a four-year starter at CPA where he was the top defender on a program with 16 shutouts, including a string of 10 consecutive.

Will Turner

Father Ryan, Sr.

Position: Forward

Why chosen: The Lipscomb signee scored 26 goals and had 15 assists in 2019.

Position: Goalkeeper

Why chosen: The District 10-AAA co-goalkeeper of the year led the Green Wave to four shutouts against a schedule that included eight state tournament teams.

Dylan Thomas

Nolensville, Sr.

Position: Defender

Why chosen: The District 11-AA co-MVP was the top defender for the Knights, who  had nine shutouts and reached the region semifinals.

Shewit Worton

Position: Midfielder

Why chosen: Worton was the District 10-A player of the year and had 26 goals and eight assists for the Class A state champions.
