Siegel's Caitlyn McCrary tops DNJ's All-Area softball team for 2019

Some of the best hitters in the state hailed from Rutherford County during the 2019 softball season.

Siegel senior and Tennessee signee Caitlyn McCrary was near or at the top of that list.

McCrary finished her Lady Stars career with a bang this season, being named The Daily News Journal's All-Area Softball Player of the Year.

She also collected The Tennessean All-Sports Player of the Year as well as the DNJ's Female Athlete of the Year.

The third baseman batted .521 with 15 doubles, four triples, 17 home runs, 76 RBIs, 60 runs and 14 stolen bases in 2019. Her OPS was 1.588.

The four-year starter finished her career with two Class AAA state runner-up trophies, helping Siegel to a 43-9 mark and state runner-up finish in 2019.

Why chosen: The Florida State commitment batted .397 with 12 doubles, a triple, 13 homers, 42 homers and 49 runs.

Why chosen: The Lipscomb signee and 7-AAA co-offensive player of the year was one of the state’s top hitters, batting .624 with 22 doubles, two triples, three homers, 39 RBIs, 65 runs and 10 stolen bases.
