Maryville star Tee Hodge commits to Tennessee football

One of the area's top football talents is committed to Tennessee.

Maryville running back Tee Hodge announced his pledge to the Vols on Friday via Twitter. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound senior is rated as a three-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite. He's No. 48 nationally among running backs in the 2020 class.

Hodge became the 12th commitment in Tennessee's 2020 class. Six of those players pledged this month.

Hodge chose UT over Michigan, Kentucky, Oregon, Purdue, Penn State, Arkansas, Virginia Tech and Mississippi, among others. The Vols made their offer to Hodge last June. It was his first offer from a Power 5 school.

Hodge rushed for 792 yards and 19 touchdowns last season. He broke his right leg in a win over Farragut in the Class 6A quarterfinals, which ended his season.

Hodge is the nephew of Randall Cobb, a Dallas Cowboys wide receiver and former Alcoa star. Cobb played at Kentucky before being selected by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the NFL Draft in 2011.
