Stone Memorial High School’s Cross Country team will be under new leadership this fall, as the program welcomes coaches Maggie Moss and Kayce Smith.
Moss (formerly Bernabei) is a native of Cumberland County. She attended high school at CCHS, where she graduated top 10 in her class in 2012.
Moss ran at Tusculum for two years, where she made the SAC All-Freshman team her first year and was named a top-five fastest freshman in the conference.
After two years at Tusculum, Moss transferred to Tennessee Tech where she finished out her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. Moss currently works as a graphic designer and production specialist at SignSmith here in Crossville.
Smith has been a teacher for 10 years in Cumberland County, the last six years at Crab Orchard Elementary. Smith has served as the Cumberland Mountain State Park Run Club coach alongside Coach Cindy Miniard for two years, and the varsity cheer coach at Crab Orchard Elementary for the past three.
Smith a passion for running and has raced countless local and statewide 5Ks and 5-10k+ obstacle course races, including the Spartan and Tough Mudder.
