Hampton saw the run game take off and never look back on Friday night.

The Bulldog rolled to a 32-13 road victory over Unicoi County in Erwin after piling up over 350 yards of rushing. With the win, Hampton improves to 1-1 on the year.


Unicoi opened the scoring quickly in the first quarter with a 65-yard touchdown run. Hampton, however, answered with a measured attack on the ground with a drive that lasted over nine minutes and the short scamper tied things up at 6-6 at the end of the first quarter.

The Bulldogs added two scores in the final five minutes of the second half to take a 20-6 advantage at the break.

After neither team was able to get on the board in the third quarter, Hampton quickly added a touchdown to their advantage in the opening minutes of the fourth and never looked back.

Isaiah Greenwell led the way with 10 carries for 83 yards, while Caleb Oaks had 73 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.

Gage Chambers had two Hampton touchdowns in the game, while Aidan Vines also added a score.

Macon Barden and Matt Hughes had 79 and 70 yards, respectively. As a team, Hampton finished with 351 rushing yards.
