The Franklin County High School boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Oakland Invitational Saturday at The Grove in Murfreesboro.
The Rebels and Rebelettes each recorded two top-20 finishes at the event with one runner for each team placing in the top five.
Aydan Yates had the best overall time and placement for Franklin County on the day as he finished second in the boys race with a time of 17:47. The winning time in the boys race was set at 17:37 by Ransom Lester of Oakland High School.
Jayden Taylor was the next runner for the Rebels to cross the finish line as he finished 19th with a time of 20:19.
Braden Collins finished in 26th place overall with a mark of 20:59.
Rounding out the times and placements for the Rebels were Christian Farrell, 42nd, 24:12; and Derek Burge, 49th, 31:33.95.
The Rebelettes had just two runners in completion, but both were able to make it into the top 20.
Kara McDaniel raced to a fourth-place finish with a time of 22:03.64 for the meet. The top time on the girls side belonged to Megan Roth of Blackman High School with a mark of 20:08.21.
Nora Daugherty was able to finish 20th overall after completing the course in 25:33.
The Rebels and Rebelettes will next compete on Tuesday in a meet at Old Stone Fort State Park in Manchester. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
