The gathering clouds turned out to be a good omen Tuesday night at East Hamilton High School for the third annual Rabbit Valley Run cross country meet. Newcomers Collegedale Academy and Silverdale joined returning teams CSAS, East Hamilton, and Ooltewah at what has typically been a hot, sunny contest.
The East Hamilton 5km course, which includes two climbs of Hurricane Hill, seldom provides athletes with personal best times.
Nonetheless, as clouds and a breeze helped the day’s scorching heat dissipate before gun time, top runners made an aggressive start, ultimately breaking both the boys and girls course records.
