Top high school football games for Week 4 in Knoxville area starts with Maryville at Alcoa

 Here's a look at the top games for Week 4 involving Knoxville area high school football teams. 

GAME OF THE WEEK

Maryville (3-0) at Alcoa (3-0)

When: 7 p.m., Thursday. 

It's the 91st meeting between these two powerhouses, which have 33 state championships combined. Maryville leads the all-time series 62-25-3, but Alcoa won last year's contest, 34-28. The Tornadoes haven't beaten Maryville in consecutive years since 2009-2010. Alcoa has won its last two games with a combined score of 84-0. Maryville is averaging 46 points and is holding opponents to under 10 points a game. 

Torres' pick: Alcoa 31, Maryville 20

South-Doyle (3-0) at Anderson County (2-1)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday. 

South-Doyle is averaging 55 points and has yet to allow 20 points in a game. The Cherokees, however, will be without starting quarterback Mason Brang, who suffered a lower leg injury in South-Doyle's win over Gibbs last week. Anderson County is coming off a 56-14 win over Hixson.

Fulton (0-3) at Austin-East (1-2)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday. 

Fulton shut out Austin-East last season in this rivalry game. But Fulton is coming off its first shutout loss since 2011. The Falcons are also off to their first 0-3 start since 2011. Austin-East is coming off its first win of the season against Kingston, where quarterback Trey Foster passed for one touchdown and rushed for two more. 

Torres' pick: Austin-East 23, Fulton 6

Farragut (1-1) at Oak Ridge (1-2)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday. 

Oak Ridge quarterback Mitchell Gibbons led the Wildcats to their first win of the season in Week 3, throwing for 248 yards and five touchdowns against Campbell County. Farragut had a bye week last week. 

Torres' pick: Farragut 35, Oak Ridge 17

Bradley Central (2-1) at Bearden (0-3)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday. 

Bearden has struggled offensively the last few weeks, scoring 14 points in each game. The Bulldogs were shut out in the first half last week in their loss to Dobyns-Bennett. Bradley Central has outscored its last two opponents 121-28. 

Torres' pick: Bradley Central 29, Bearden 20

Central (3-0) at Hardin Valley (1-2)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday.

Running back Jason Merritts rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns in Central's win over Sevier County. The Bobcats will try and stop Hardin Valley running back Kelton Gunn, who rushed for 213 yards and two touchdowns in Week 3.

Oneida (3-0) at Greenback (1-2)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday. 

Greenback quarterback Braden Carnes led the Cherokees to their first win of the season in Week 3, passing for 255 yards and four touchdowns against Sunbright. Oneida has outscored its last two opponents 75-7. 

Torres' pick: Oneida 26, Greenback 18

Jefferson County (3-0) at West (3-0)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday. 

Jefferson County is 3-0 for the first time since 2003. The Patriots are averaging over six sacks a game. West is coming off a 45-0 win over Karns, where running back Jai Hundley rushed for 105 yards and one touchdown. 

Torres' pick: West 23, Jefferson County 16

Gatlinburg-Pittman (3-0) at Cocke County (1-2)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday. 

The Highlanders are led by running back Bryce Akey, who has rushed for nine touchdowns and is averaging over 10 yards a carry. Cocke County is coming off a loss to South Greene. 

Torres' pick: Gatlinburg-Pittman 33, Cocke County 13

Greeneville (2-1) at Science Hill (1-2)

When: 7:30 p.m., Friday. 

After getting 17 points in the opener, Greeneville hasn't had any problems in the last two weeks, outscoring its opponents 87-14. Science Hill earned its first win last week against Hardin Valley. 

Torres' pick: Greeneville 33, Science Hill 22
