Elizabethton took care of business on Friday night.

The Cyclones took a 35-12 non conference victory over Daniel Boone instead Citizen’s Bank Stadium. With the win, Elizabethton improves to 3-0 on the season.


EHS jumped out early.

Bryson Rollins found Jake Roberts for a 13-yard touchdown on the game’s first drive to cap a 12-play drive that covered 66 yards. After Deuce Morton intercepted a Boone pass, Braden Holly caught a Rollins pass for a 21-yard touchdown to give the Cyclones a 14-0 lead.

The Trailblazers trimmed into the Elizabethton lead in the second quarter with a five-yard touchdown and a 27-yard field goal to pull within five points. Cade Maupin, however, answered in a big way for Elizabethton with an 80-yard touchdown run. A Boone field goal to end the half gave the Cyclones a 21-12 advantage going to the locker room.

In the third quarter, Jake Roberts jumped in front of a Trailblazer pass and returned it 42 yards for the touchdown to help Elizabethton seize control once and for all.

Maupin added a short touchdown in the fourth quarter to account for the scoring.

Maupin had 14 carries for 131 yards with two touchdowns, while Rollins was 5-of-8 passing for 52 yards. Rollins added 80 yards on the ground.

The Cyclones return home next Friday as they host Grainger.
