The Franklin County High School boys golf team played the teams of Tullahoma, Lincoln County, Shelbyville and Columbia in a multi-team match on Monday at the Bear Trace at Tims Ford.
The district match served as a final warm-up for all of the teams involved before the district and regional tournaments which are both scheduled to be held at the Bear Trace next week.
The Rebels picked up a team victory with a total of 314 strokes for the match. This total was enough to win by 28 strokes.
Nathan Calahan led the way for the Rebels with a strong 1-under 70 for the match. Calahan finished second overall in the individual standings as Tullahoma’s Andrew Cardosi carded a 69.
Jack Curtis and Hayden Curl finished tied for second place with the Rebels with equal scores of 77 for the day.
Caleb Maybrey rounded out the scoring for the Rebels with a mark of 90.
The Rebels finished comfortably ahead of their competition with the second-place team being Shelbyville Central at 342 strokes for the match.
Tullahoma was next in the team standings with a group score of 352 while Lincoln County finished with 357 strokes for the day.
Columbia Central did not have enough golfers in competition to qualify for the team standings.
The Rebels will next be in competition on Monday in their district tournament at the Bear Trace at Tims Ford. The event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
