Here's a look at the top 10 high school football teams in Middle Tennessee, as ranked by the USA Today Sports Network. 

1. Oakland (7-0) – The Patriots held Blackman to 63 total yards in a 40-0 win heading into their fall break. Last week: No. 1. This week: Open.

2. Pearl-Cohn (7-0) – The Firebirds picked the perfect time for their first shutout of the season, beating East Nashville 14-0 without three Pearl-Cohn offensive starters. Last week: No. 3. This week: Open.

3. Brentwood (6-1) – The Bruins have a one-game lead over the rest of Region 6-6A after a 24-7 win over Independence. Last week: No. 4. This week: Open.

4. Ravenwood (5-1) – The Raptors’ season-best 70 points scored against Dickson County came with coach Matt Daniels and non-faculty coach Ryan Fowler, a former Tennessee Titan, suspended from the team. Last week: No. 5. This week: at CPA.

5. Brentwood Academy (5-2) – Mississippi State baseball commitment Tayler Montiel passed for 330 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-37 loss to Knoxville Catholic. Last week: No. 2. This week: at MBA.

6. Gallatin (7-0) – The Green Wave’s 36-0 rout of Hunters Lane was their fourth straight shutout and fifth this season. Last week: No. 6. This week: Open.

7. Beech (7-0) – The Buccaneers are averaging 36.3 points a game after a 35-21 win over Hillsboro. Last week: No. 8. This week: Open.

8. Henry Co. (5-2) – The Patriots’ 23-3 win over Germantown was their fifth straight after an 0-2 start. Last week: No. 9. This week: at West Creek.

9. Cane Ridge (5-2) – Xayvion Clemmons has thrown for 1,145 yards with 18 touchdowns in the Ravens’ five-game win streak. Last week: Not ranked. This week: Open.

10. East Nashville (6-1) – Quarterback Kwanzee Jemison had 154 total yards in the Eagles’ loss to Pearl-Cohn. Last week: No. 7. This week: Open.
