Ensworth senior Dontavia Waggoner, the 2019 Tennessean Girls Basketball Player of the Year, committed to North Carolina State on Sunday.

Waggoner, a 6-foot forward, announced her commitment via Twitter. She was named Division II-AA Miss Basketball this past season after averaging 18 points, 10 rebounds and four steals for the Lady Tigers, who won the Division II-AA state championship.

Commitments are nonbinding for the athlete and the school. Waggoner cannot sign until the basketball early signing period, which begins Nov. 13.
