The TSSAA has denied an appeal by Hardin County over the ejection of tight end Hudson Wolfe.

Wolfe was ejected with one minute remaining in the first half of the Tigers' 42-14 win over Portland in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs for what the official deemed "throwing a punch."

Wolfe missed the final two quarters of that game, and he must sit out the Tigers' second round home game against Creek Wood because of the incident, too.

Portland coach Greg Cavanah said that he back was turned talking to another of his players during the play, so he did not see what happened.

The junior is a 6-foot-6, 240-pound four-star recruit who has offers from 13 of the 14 SEC schools, including Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee.

He has caught 27 passes for 471 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, increasing his offensive output from 11 catches for 175 yards and three touchdowns last season.
