Knoxville teen Sierra Shuck-Sparer continues to show courage throughout her ordeal fighting cancer — even showing the whole country her progress on the "Today" show.

The 16-year-old West High School swimmer, the winner of the Knox News Sport Awards Courage Award, is back at school and was strong enough to travel to Texas to meet Chip and Joanna Gaines, hosts of HGTV's "Fixer Upper," and actress Marlo Thomas. The group hosted a party to celebrate St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and promoted the hospital's annual giving campaign.

“I would just want to say thank you to St. Jude for saving my life and providing so many great opportunities for getting better,” she said in the segment that aired Monday morning.

Sierra was diagnosed with high-risk medulloblastoma, a cancerous tumor in the brain that starts at the base of the skull, in November 2018.

She had brain surgery to remove the tumor and underwent radiation and chemotherapy at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. She finished her treatment Sept. 5 and is already back to her studies.

Here she is on "Today":

Together, they're raising fund for the hospital's Thanks and Giving campaign. The mission of St. Jude is "to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.' No child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.
