Tennessean All-Midstate girls soccer team 2019
FIRST TEAM
The first eight players are nominees for The Tennessean girls soccer player of the year. The winner will be announced on May 29 at the fifth annual Tennessean Sports Awards presented by Farm Bureau Health Plans.
Caroline Betts
CPA, So.
Position: Forward
Why chosen: Betts scored a team-high 52 goals and had 15 assists for the Division II-A runner-up Lady Lions.

Position: Midfielder
Why chosen: The Austin Peay signee had two goals and dished out 13 assists for the Lady Raptors.

Kate Devine
Brentwood, Sr.
Position: Goalkeeper
Why chosen: The Vanderbilt signee gave up six goals for the entire season and posted 13 shutouts for the Class AAA runner-up Lady Bruins.

Kendall Giles
Hendersonville, Jr.
Position: Midfielder
Why chosen: Giles was the District 10-AAA MVP and was the key reason the Lady Commandos reached the Class AAA sectionals. She finished with three goals and five assists.

Position: Forward
Why chosen: The Samford signee finished with 16 goals and had 12 assists for the Class AAA state runner-up Lady Bruins.

Why chosen: Price scored 26 goals and had 11 assists for the Lady Wildcats and also drew some of the Lady Wildcats' toughest defensive assignments.

Why chosen: The Western Kentucky signee scored 18 goals and had 20 assists to help lead the Lady Irish to the Division II-AA state runner-up.

Why chosen: Wepking was the District 9-AA MVP and was the key cog to a defense that had 10 shutouts and finished Class AA state runner-up.

Why chosen: The Chattanooga commitment was a key cog to the Lady Lions' defense, which allowed six goals until the state tournament and 10 goals all season.

Brandon Mead
Ravenwood
Why chosen: Mead led Ravenwood to its first Class AAA state championship in school history in his first season. The Lady Raptors finished 12-4-1 for the season.
