The Red Team won its third game in a row against the Blue Team.

The Red Team never trailed in the 18th annual AutoZone Liberty Bowl High School All-Star game as it pulled out a 14-10 win over the Blue Team on Saturday.

The rosters are made up of players from Shelby County.

Southwind's Romal Webb, who gave the Red Team the lead with a 75-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, was named MVP.

"I saw a crease and it was over with. I just got into the end zone," Webb said.

Webb, who has offers from Southern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee State, helped lead Southwind to a second-round playoff appearance. He said that he was waiting until February to sign.

Six of the state's top 20 college football recruits in the Class of 2020 were on the roster in Briarcrest's Omari Thomas and Jabari Small, Whitehaven's Bryson Eason, Martavius French and Tamarion McDonald as well as Central's Darin Turner. The state's Mr. Football winners from the highest public and private school classifications also were on the roster in Thomas (DII-AAA) and Houston's Lincoln Pare (Class 6A).

"It was a lifetime experience for me because I had never had an experience like that and going against the top talent in the city was just wonderful," Webb said.

The Red Team has now won three in a row and is 10-8 in the all-time series.
