Clinton has hired Darell Keith as its new football coach, athletics director Brad Collette confirmed Tuesday. Keith replaces Randy McKamey, who resigned Nov. 13 after three seasons.

"We were just looking for someone who we thought was going to come in and was going to energize the program, and (Keith) has that," Collette said. "He's a very disciplined man."

Keith had been the coach of Todd County Central in Elkton, Kentucky. He led the school to the playoffs in his two seasons as coach and was 11-11 overall.

Collette said more than 25 applicants were interviewed. Keith will have a meet and greet with the football team Thursday, Collette said.

Clinton finished 2-8 this season and missed the playoffs.
