GREENFIELD (December 16) — West Carroll traveled to Greenfield High School Monday for a pair of non-district basketball contests. The Lady Yellowjackets took a big lead early and played the Lady War Eagles even in the second half for a 66-44 win. The War Eagles stayed just ahead of the Yellowjackets throughout for a 57-48 victory.

The Lady Yellowjackets jumped out to a 17-6 lead after the opening frame, led by Chloe Moore-McNeil with nine points. Tess Darby scored six on a pair of three-pointers, and Edie Darby had a pair. Lady War Eagle Macey Cunningham scored four, and Gracie Cunningham had a pair.
Greenfield added to the lead with an 18-7 tilt in the second quarter, led by Moore-McNeil with eight. T. Darby scored four, E. Darby hit a three, and MiKayla Peterson also scored three points. Kaylee Butler hit a three for West Carroll, and M. Cunningham and Amaya Thompson each had a pair. At the half, Greenfield led 35-13.
The Lady Yellowjackets had a 17-16 advantage in the third, led by T. Darby with nine points, including a three-pointer. E. Darby scored four, and Reese Biggs and Lydia Hazelwood each had a pair. Thompson led West Carroll with six. G. Cunningham and Mia Jones each had a pair, and Tatym Keymon had a pair. Entering the final frame, Greenfield led 52-29.
The Lady War Eagles had a 15-14 edge in the fourth, led by M. Cunningham with five points. Thompson scored four, and Keymon, Erin Norman and Jayden Rader each had a pair. Moore-McNeil led Greenfield with four points. E. Darby hit a three, T. Darby, Peterson and Caroline Crouse each had a pair, and Biggs hit a free throw.
Lady Yellowjackets Tess Darby and Chloe Moore-McNeil led all scorers with 21 points each, Darby with a trio of threes. Edie Darby scored a dozen with a pair of threes.
