Mike Wood
McCallie School's Mike Wood has suffered a heart attack, according to the Caring Bridge site.
Wood is the longtime summer camp director for McCallie as well as the track and cross country coach.
The site says: On Sunday evening, December 29th, Mike suffered a massive heart attack. Due to complications, he was airlifted to St.Thomas Hospital in Nashville on Monday night. The procedure in Nashville was successful, but there is still a very long road to recovery. The family is grateful for all of the care, concern, and help that we have received from so many. We created this site so we can share Mike's progress as well as relay any needs or prayer requests.

Joining McCallie in 1988, he was the Director of the McCallie Sports Camp for 25 years and his wife Paula was the "camp mom." He has been the Director of Summer Programs since 2013.
He and his wife Paula live in Belk dorm and serve as dorm parents.
Their two children grew up around McCallie School and McCallie Sports Camp. Margaret (GPS '08, Wake Forest '12, University of Edinburgh '15) is married to Edward Hill and lives in New York. Grey (McCallie '15, Samford '19) has worked at McCallie Sports Camp during college.
