McCallie sophomore wrestler James Howard took first-place in the 285-pound division at the Cheesehead Invitational in Kaukauna, Wis., this past weekend.
Howard went 6-0 at the elite national competition and defeated Lloyd Reynolds of Edwardsville, Ill., 3-0 in the championship match.
Junior Alex Whitworth placed third at 160 pounds with a 6-1 record, and junior Gavin Cagle finished ninth at 170 pounds.
Others competing for the Blue Tornado included Ellis Haney (106), Emory Taylor (126) and Chase Looper (182).
McCallie placed 17th in the team standings with 233.5.
