The Franklin County Rebelettes beat the Lawrence County Lady Wildcats 41-34 at home Tuesday for their fourth win of the season.
The Rebelettes rode a strong defensive performance in the second half to a win as they picked up their first district victory of the campaign.
Both offenses had decent production in the opening period as the Rebelettes were able to build an early lead.
They led 12-10 after one quarter.
However, the Lady Wildcats flipped the scoreboard in the second quarter to put the Rebelettes in a slight hole when the first half ended.
They trailed 21-19 at halftime.
The Rebelettes allowed just two points for the entire third quarter, which allowed them to get back in front by a small amount.
They led 28-23 going into the final period.
The Lady Wildcats got back to their normal offensive pace in the fourth quarter, but the Rebelettes matched them point-for-point in the period to seal the seven-point win.
Chyenna Luttrell led the Rebelettes with 14 points for the game, followed by Angela Tarrant with eight points and Ashtin Holman with seven.
Rylan Wolkonowski scored six points, and Madisyn Partin, Heidi Seay and Lucy Barnes scored two points each.
With the win, the Rebelettes improved to 4-11 on the season and 1-5 in district play.
They will next play Friday at home against Tullahoma High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
