NASHVILLE—Hunters Lane got the best of McGavock last Friday night as the Raiders fell 70-66 in overtime on the road.
The loss proved to be the first in a two-game losing streak for McGavock (11-5, 4-2) as the Raiders also fell 54-40 to Brentwood on Saturday night in the Music City Classic.
On Friday night, Hunters Lane (10-4, 4-2) jumped out to a 16-12 lead at the end of the first period before McGavock stormed back on a 25-16 run to take a 37-32 lead at the half.
Hunters Lane battled back in the third on a 12-9 run to trim the Raiders’ lead to 46-44 and outscored McGavock 14-12 in the fourth to tie the game 58-58 at the final buzzer. In overtime, Hunters Lane was four better than McGavock on a 12-8 run.
Monté Streate led all scorers with 36 points, followed by Michael Dowlen with 17 for McGavock. Tacoma Carey had 17 points for Hunters Lane, followed by Kendel Packer with 15 and Marcellus Scales with 14.
McGavock faced Hillwood at home on Tuesday and will travel to Antioch on Friday night.
