BRUCETON (January 21) — West Carroll traveled Tuesday to Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central High School for a pair of district basketball contests. The Lady War Eagles took a big lead early and coasted to a 58-34 victory. The War Eagles steadily built a lead over four quarters for a 68-45 win.

West Carroll jumped out to an 18-7 lead after the opening frame, led by Macey Cunningham with nine points, including a three-pointer. Denver Brooks scored five, and Gracie Cunningham and Tatym Keymon each had a pair. Sophie Bratton led Central with five points, and Brylee Williams had a pair.
The Lady War Eagles pulled away with a 22-6 advantage in the second quarter, led by M. Cunningham with seven points. Amaya Thompson scored six. Kaylee Butler had five points with a three, and Keymon scored four. Williams, McKenzie Burton and Mya Harris each had a pair for the Lady Tigers. At the half, the Lady War Eagles led 40-13.
West Carroll had a 13-12 edge in the third, led by Alyssa Butler with nine points on a trio of three-pointers. Brooks added a pair, and Mia Jones and Erin Norman each hit a free throw. Bratton led Central with four points. Malorie Clements hit a three, and Williams also scored three points. Harris added a pair. Entering the final frame, the Lady War Eagles led 53-25.
The Lady Tigers earned a closer final score with a 9-5 tilt in the fourth, led by Williams with four points. Clements and Alvia Hannah each had a pair, and Burton hit a free throw. K. Butler scored three for West Carroll, and Kymbrianna Ross had a pair.
Lady War Eagle Macey Cunningham led all scorers with 16 points, including a three-pointer. Alyssa Butler scored nine on a trio of threes.
