Jaylen Washington's 35 points help Kenwood boys survive scare from Rossview in OT

In one of the more exciting games of the District 10-AAA season, Kenwood survived a scare from Rossview 64-60 in overtime Friday night as the Knights kept pace with Clarksville and Northeast near the top of the district standings.

Rossview erased a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter to take the lead with 19 seconds left. Kenwood's Jaylen Washington hit a running jumper as time expired to send it into overtime where the Knights iced the game at the foul line, going 6-for-7 in the extra period.

Washington finished with a career-high 35 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Knights. Spencer Mimms led Rossview with 23.

Kenwood improved to 10-2 in district play and 13-9 overall.

Henry County 68, Clarksville 45: Henry County knocked the Wildcats into a two-way tie for first place. Jamarco Mimms finished with 18 points as the Wildcats (13-6) move to 11-2 in district play, along with Northeast.

Northeast 67, Springfield 39: Ty Jackson had 17 points to match teammate Isaiah Farrior. Jackson also added seven assists and eight steals to lead the Eagles to a victory that improved Northeast to 17-4 overall.

Northwest 68, Montgomery Central 54: Ametri Moss had 29 points to surpass 1,000 points for his career as the Vikings improved to 8-11 and 4-8 in district. NaQuan Braithwaite had 15 and Amonte Briscoe finished with 13 for Northwest.

Ezell-Harding 46, Clarksville Academy 44 (OT): Daniel Loos had 27 points for Clarksville Academy. The Cougars fell to 15-9 and 8-7 in Division II-A District 4.

Girls Basketball

Rossview 52, Kenwood 35: Kayla Gilmore led the way for the Lady Hawks with 17 points and Courteney Daniels added 11 as Rossview remained in first place in district with a 12-1 record (18-3 overall).

Clarksville 57, Henry County 50: Erin Lackey had 20 points to lead the Lady Wildcats while Alexis Wimberly added 12 and Macy Brown finished with 10

Clarksville Academy 56, Ezell-Harding 23: Sydney Boykin had 16 points in 16 minutes and Diamond Bryant added 14 for the Lady Cougars (23-2, 12-2).

Northwest 61, Montgomery Central 23: Emiyah Cobb finished with 13 points and Madison King added 10 as the Lady Vikings improved to 13-9 and stand alone in second place at 10-2 in the district after Henry County's loss to CHS.

Northeast 30, Springfield 17: Amaya Moore led the Lady Eagles with nine points as Northeast improved to 14-10 and 8-5 in district.
