Clarksville area basketball roundup: CHS rebounds with key win in final week of regular season

 Clarksville snapped a two-game losing streak with a 60-52 overtime victory over Kenwood Friday night in a District 10-AAA regular-season game.

The Wildcats (16-8, 13-3) got balanced scoring from their big three, led by Jamarco Mimms, who had 16 points. Nick Keener added 15 points and J.J. Wheat finished with 14.

Kenwood was led by James Williams' 24 points. The Knights have one more district game Saturday in Paris against Henry County.

If the Knights (16-10, 12-3) win Saturday, they'll tie Clarksville in the district standings for second place. If the Patriots beat Kenwood, CHS locks up the No. 2 seed in next week's boys district tournament.

West Creek 72, Northwest 69: Jordan Ham had a career-high 21 points on Senior Night as the Coyotes (10-17, 6-10) snapped a three-game losing streak. Ametri Moss led all scorers with 33 points for Northwest (9-13, 6-10) while Amonte Briscoe had 17.

Ensworth 69, Northeast 67 (OT): Northeast played without starter Isaiah Farrior, Jalen Miller and Jalen Bussey. Ty Jackson led the Eagles with 25 points as Northeast enters next week's district tournament as the No. 1 seed. It will play at 7 p.m. Friday against the winner of Tuesday's Rossview-Montgomery Central game.

Springfield 50, Rossview 47: Bryant Rippy led Rossview (5-19, 4-12) with 12 points.

Goodpasture 68, Clarksville Academy 52: Clarksville Academy (17-11) lost in the DII-A District 4 tournament semifinals. The Cougars (17-11) will face Donelson Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the consolation game at DCA.

Girls basketball

Rossview 59, Springfield 34: Rossview ran away from Springfield as the Lady Hawks have secured the district tournament's No. 1 seed.

Chelsea Williams had 11 points to lead Rossview and Maggie Croom and Courteney Daniels each finished with 10 for the Lady Hawks (22-3, 15-1). Rossview will play Thursday against the winner of Tuesday's game between West Creek and Montgomery Central.

Clarksville 53, Kenwood 37: Mya Collins had 20 points and Erin Lackey finished with 12 as the Lady Wildcats (13-11, 11-5) wrapped up the fourth seed in next week's District 10 tournament. CHS will face Northeast at 7 p.m. Thursday at Williams Workman Gym.

Iyanna Curtis had 11 points to lead Kenwood (4-18, 4-11), which finishes the regular season with a make-up game against Henry County Saturday in Paris.

Northwest 58, West Creek 12: Madison King scored her 1,000th point and finished with 12 to lead Northwest (16-10, 13-3). Emiyah Cobb added 10 as the Lady Vikings locked up second place in district and will face Kenwood Thursday in the district tournament.

Clarksville Academy 58, Davidson Academy 55: The Lady Cougars moved into the DII-A District 4 tournament championship game.

The Lady Cougars (27-2) will face Goodpasture at 7 p.m. Saturday at Donelson Christian for the district title. Both teams met last week with the Lady Cougars coming away with a three-point win.
