Huntingdon Fillies Conclude Season With Quarterfinal Loss to Clarkrange

MURFREESBORO (March 12) — The Huntingdon Fillies ended their season Thursday with an 80-36 loss to Clarkrange in the opening round of the TSSAA Class A State Girls Basketball Tournament.
The Lady Buffaloes pulled ahead early and led 13-7 after the opening frame. The second quarter went much the same for a 15-8 Clarkrange advantage and a 28-15 lead at the half.
The Fillies gained some offensive momentum in the third, but couldn’t slow down Clarkrange on the other end and were outscored 21-15. Entering the final frame, the Lady Buffaloes led 49-30.
The Lady Buffaloes scored at will in the fourth as Huntingdon went cold again for a 31-6 tilt to close out the win.
Clarkrange’s Kassie Monday led all scorers with 25 points, including a three-pointer. Chloe Howard scored 18 with a three. Kaylie Monday had 15 points with a trio of three-pointers.

The Lady Buffaloes shot 60 percent from the field (30-50), 45.5 percent from three (10-22) and 71.4 percent from the free throw line (10-14).
Tyasia Reed led the Fillies with 12 points. Adyn Swenson and Brooklyn Williams each scored seven points. Kaci Fuller had four points, including the team’s lone three-pointer.
Huntingdon shot 17.8 percent from the field (8-45), five percent from three (1-20) and 79.2 percent from the line (19-24).
The Fillies won the rebounding battle 34-26, including 19 offensive rebounds to Clarkrange’s six.
Huntingdon had 25 turnovers compared to 14 for the Lady Buffaloes.
Clarkrange had 19 steals to the Fillies’ seven.
