GCHS volleyball falls at Hixson

Grundy (4-3, 2-1) managed a hard-fought 25-23 win in the third, but the momentum wasn’t enough to force a fifth set.

Senior setter Kimber Thomas collected 11 assists in the match, while Peyton Meeks paced the team with six kills and five digs. Mackenzie Meeks and Scarlett Walkden each added four kills.

The Lady Jackets played a double-header at Whitwell on Tuesday against the Tigers and SAS, but results were not available at press time. The team returns home Thursday, Sept. 7 to host Bledsoe County at 6:30 p.m. The homestand continues Monday, Sept. 11 and Tuesday, Sept. 12 when GCHS welcomes St. Andrew’s and Signal Mountain, respectively, to Ricky Richards Gym. Both matches are scheduled for 6 p.m.
