Rangers Fall To Jellico

Unaka came up short on the road on Friday night.

The Rangers dropped a hard-fought 21-0 decision to Jellico in Region 1-A play at Jellico. With the loss, Unaka falls to 1-3 overall in 1-1 in region play.

After Jellico used a strong rushing attack to open the game and score on an eight-yard run, Unaka moved the ball to midfield but was unable to extend the drive.

The teams swapped possessions until the closing seconds of the half as the Blue Devils pushed the lead to 14-0 with a short touchdown run.

Unaka continued to battle in the second half but was unable to get anything going. Jellico extended the lead to 21-0 early in the fourth.

The Rangers moved the ball deep into Jellico territory midway through the half, but an interception ended the drive and secured the win.

Unaka is set to host Happy Valley next Friday.
