Tilton Pickett threw for 114 yards and three touchdowns as the Marion County Warriors (6-0), ranked No. 5 in Class 2A, defeated Brainerd 30-12 in Chattanooga on Friday.

Sophomore Ashton Martin had three tackles for loss and two sacks for the Warriors on defense.

The top-ranked Class 1A South Pittsburg Pirates (6-0) dominated Alabama’s 4A North Jackson Chiefs 62-0.

Kamden Wellington threw for 141 yards and three scores, and Freshman Ky’Saun Powell ran eight times for 117 yards and two touchdowns.

The Pirate offense outgained North Jackson 422-65 in total yards.

South Pittsburg will host Middle Tennessee Christian on Friday. You can hear the game on The River 104.9.

 

The Whitwell Tigers improved to 6-0 on the year as they rolled past Copped Basin 54-18. Class 1A’s sixth-ranked Tigers have outscored its three region opponents by an average of 43-11.

With the wins by the Tigers, Pirates, and Warriors, all three Marion County schools are a combined 18-0 on the season.

Emma Saltsman was named Homecoming Queen for Sequatchie County

Sequatchie County (4-2) picked up a win on Homecoming win on Friday as they came from behind to blow past Coalfield 31-14.

The Indians got three touchdowns from sophomore Austin Griffith and one from freshman Kason Hicks.

Sequatchie County travels to Fayetteville on Friday. Hear the Indians broadcast on Country Roads 93.3.
