High School Football Recaps for October 7 Games

It wasn’t easy, but Class 2A’s second-ranked Marion County Warriors defeated Forrest 21-12 on Friday. The Warriors trailed twice, 6-0 and 12-7, and rallied for the Region 4 win.

Marion County got touchdowns on an 18-yard TD pass from Tilton Pickett to Sam Pickett, a 68-yard E.J. Wilson touchdown run, and Pickett scored again on a 1-yard run.

The Warriors (8-0) are off until they travel to Cannon County on October 20.

 

Sequatchie County (5-3) blew past Community 55-14 after gaining a 44-0 halftime lead.

Sam Evitts was 6-for-6 passing for 143 yards and a TD pass. Britt Chadwick and Tripp Stewart had two touchdown runs, and Jackson Tate added touchdown receptions.

The Indians have the week off before they travel to Grundy County on October 20.

 

The Whitwell Tigers fell to 6-2 on the season as they dropped a 22-8 contest at Oliver Springs on Friday night.

After falling for the second straight week in non-region games, the Tigers will take a week off before they travel to 2-5 Chattanooga Prep on October 20.

 

The top-ranked Class 1A team, South Pittsburg Pirates (7-0), was the only valley team with the week off. They will travel to Chattanooga Prep on Friday, and you can hear the game on The River 104.9.
