ELIZABETHTON — Carter Jones got going late for West Ridge, scoring seven of her team-high 17 points in the fourth quarter of the 53-43 girls basketball road win over Elizabethton. Lilly Bates had 15 for the Lady Wolves. Michelle Shields had 17 to lead the Lady Cyclones, and Marlee Mathena scored 12.
Abingdon 57, Tennessee High 47
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Abby O’Quinn’s 17 points led the Lady Falcons to a second win over the Lady Vikings this season, this time on the road. Chloe Reynolds chipped in 10 for Abingdon. Addie Wilhoit had 20 to lead the Lady Vikings and Keeyanah Foote finished with 12.
Thomas Walker 53, Rye Cove 44
CLINCHPORT — The Lady Pioneers picked up a big Cumberland road win thanks to 22 points from Madi Marcum and 12 from Sarah McPherson. Lexie Holland led the Lady Eagles with 16, and Kaylee Lamb finished with 13.
Tri-Cities Christian 46, Smith Mountain Lake Christian 32
MONETA, Va. — Faith Greene finished with 14 points and four assists to lead the Lady Eagles to a road victory. Michaela Dixon (11) and Bella Bosken (10 points, six steals) also scored in double figures for TCA (11-7). Sophie Humphrey and Savannah Barb each grabbed 14 rebounds and Grace Williams snagged 12 boards. Kelsey Threewitts had 10 points to lead SMLCA (11-5).
WRESTLING
JONESBOROUGH — David Crockett’s boys wrestling team, attempting to make the duals state championships for the first time, came up short in Saturday’s Class A sectional against Anderson County, falling 42-33. Crockett got off to a good start as Blaine Smith (113) won his bout via forfeit to start.
Cameron Malone (132) and Jake Ferrell (138) both won their matches by pin, but the Mavericks got it rolling after that, taking three of the next four matches.
Crockett’s Felix Duncan (157) broke it up with an early pin over Isaiah Tuckey. Colton Ferrell (175) and Deter Thompson (106) were the last two winners for Crockett.

Elizabethton 61, West Ridge 56
ELIZABETHTON — Andrew Barnett had 13 points, Hudson Pate netted 12 and Mac Paulson put up 11 to lead the Cyclones to victory at Treadway Gymnasium. Avery Horne led West Ridge with 18 while Trey Frazier canned 15.
Tennessee High 78, Abingdon 54
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Colin Brown cut loose for 37 points to lead Tennessee High to a decisive victory inside Viking Hall. Reed Miller also had a solid night, finishing with 18 before the home crowd. Luke Honaker’s 18 points paced Abingdon. Aaron Pomrenke (12) and Landon Turman (11) also reached double figures.
Gate City 59, Sullivan East 49
GATE CITY — Gunner Garrett scored his 1,000th career point for the Blue Devils and finished off the interstate with a game-high 21. Eli McMurray pitched in 11 for Gate City. Zach Johnson led the Patriots with 10.

CLINCHPORT — Blake Will willed his Pioneers to a key Cumberland District road win, firing up 22 points. Tanner Epperly contributed 17 and Landon Lowe had 16 in the victory. Carter Roach-Hodge had a game-high 23 for Rye Cove and teammate Luke Jessee netted 22.
Union 56, Lebanon 55
BRISTOL, Va. — Reyshawn Anderson was cool from the line, going 10-for-12 from the stripe in the fourth quarter to help the Bears turn back the Pioneers at Virginia High’s Bearcat Den. The game was part of the winter weather-interrupted FriendshipCars Virginia Invitational.
Kam Bostic fired in 16 first-half points to help stake Union to a 39-27 lead at the break.
Lebanon gained ground by making three of its five 3s in the fourth quarter when Michael Reece scored seven of his 15 points and Jake Hilton knocked down both of his long-range shots.
Bostic finished with 25 points and Anderson had 19. Union hit 16 of its 21 foul shots, but Lebanon made just 12 of 21.
