Addie Wilhoit’s all-around effort and a strong defensive performance were vital as Tennessee High overwhelmed Unicoi County for a 50-30 win on Monday night in the third-place game of the TSSAA Region 1-3A girls basketball tournament.
Wilhoit continued her fine freshman season with 16 points, five rebounds and four steals. Keeyanah Foote added nine points for the Bristolians, who dominated the second half in turning the game into a blowout.
Eight different players reached the scoring column.
The Vikings travel to Greeneville on Friday in a first-round regional tournament game.
Allie Lingerfelt scored 18 of Unicoi’s 30 points.

Carter Jones tossed in 16 points as the West Ridge Wolves stomped Science Hill in the third-place game of the TSSAA Region 1-4A tournament.
West Ridge goes to Morristown East on Friday in the first round of the regional tourney.
