Grace Shuts Out CSLA In Diamond Opener

Grace Academy opened their season Monday with a 7-0 victory over CSLA. Sophomore Clayton Gunther got the start for the Golden Eagles. In dominating fashion, Gunther struck out seven, walked two, and only gave up two hits in five innings of work. 

The Golden Eagles offense tallied a total of eight hits on the day. Sophomore Walter Bianco led the offense going 2-2 scoring a run with three stolen bases. Senior Ethan Wold came alive in the first inning with a huge bases clearing double, ending the night with three RBIs. Another contributing hits came at the hands of Andrew Huggins, Noble Lucius, Strong Redd, Jacob Wold, and Wesley Thompson. 

Grace coach Cordaro Cummings said, “I am very proud of the way our guys came out and competed tonight. There is still quite a bit of work to do, but the future is looking bright here at Grace Academy.”
