Final 615 Preps Girls Basketball Rankings: Clarksville, Goodpasture end on top

After five months of nonstop action, the TSSAA girls basketball season has come to an end. As the season ends, so do our girls basketball rankings for the year.

Large Class teams include 4A, 3A, and Division II-AA. Small Class teams include 2A, 1A, and Division II-A.

Rankings are based on overall success current form for each teams. While teams may have beaten each other earlier in the season, we look at the current form of teams compared to each other.

With that in mind, here’s a look at this season’s final 615 Preps large and small class girls rankings:

Large Class

1. Clarksville (31-1): The Lady Wildcats drew top-ranked Bradley Central to start the Class 4A state tournament. That matchup proved to be too much for them as Clarksville’s season came to an end with a 62-30 loss.

2. Blackman (18-9): The Lady Blaze lost their substate matchup with Cleveland 40-38.

3. Beech (22-9): The Lady Bucs lost their substate matchup with Lincoln County 55-39.

4. Hillsboro (20-5): The Lady Burros lost to Beech 56-44 in the Region 6-4A semis.

5. Hendersonville (20-10): The Lady Commandos lost their substate matchup to Coffee County 63-30.

6. Lebanon (23-9)

7. CPA (17-13)

8. Nolensville (21-11)

9. Oakland (18-13)

10. Rossview (21-12)

Small Class

1. Goodpasture (25-3): The Lady Cougars lost to USJ in a triple overtime classic for the Division II-A title 70-58.

2. PCA (23-6): The Lady Lions’ season came to an end in the DII-A state quarterfinals with a 46-42 loss to CAK.

3. Smith County (22-12): In their first state tournament appearance of the modern format, the Lady Owls gave one of the tournament favorites of Gatlinburg-Pittman all they could handle. They ultimately saw their season come to an end in a 54-46 loss.

4. Cheatham County (28-4): The Lady Cubs lost to Loretto 64-36 in their substate matchup.

5. Cannon County (24-6): The Lionettes lost to Summertown 57-47 in their substate matchup.
