Tuesday Round-up: Warriors, Cyclones, Lady Rangers Take Wins

Happy Valley 25, Unaka 0
The Warriors jumped out early and never looked back in a county matchup on Tuesday.

HV opened the game with three runs and added six more in the second to take full control.

Tucker Shoun and Drew Blevins went 3-for-4 at the plate with Shoun recording four RBI and Blevins had three RBI. Ty Johnson and Lane Parker each added two RBI for the HV cause.

On the mound, Blevins allowed just two hits with eight strikeouts to pick up the win.

Cameron Prince and Rylan Crabtree each had a hit for the Rangers.

Elizabethton 11, Concord Christian 1
The Cyclones used a big third and fifth inning to pull away for the win on Tuesday.

EHS plated four runs in the third and four more in the fifth to leave no doubt.

Justin Whitehead was 3-for-3, while JD Hooks and Andrew Blevins added two hits apiece.

Andrew Barnett picked up the win on the mound as he struck out four batters.

Bethel Christian 12, Cloudland 4
The ‘Landers were unable to keep pace with Bethel in the return to varsity action.

Cloudland has fielded just a JV squad for the past two years.

Thomas Job and Bryson Peppers each had a hit and an RBI for CHS, while Miguel Hernandez also recorded a hit.

In over four innings of work, Job struck out seven batters. Walker Gouge also recorded three strikeouts in just under two innings of work.

FCA Flames 11, Hampton 2
The Bulldogs outhit the Flames but were unable to overcome a six-run fourth inning.

Hampton led 2-1 after three complete. The Flames, however, were able to plate six runs in the bottom of the fourth to take control.

Jayden Kuhn and Noah Nichols each had two hits and an RBI, while Chase Davenport added two hits for Hampton.

Elisha Henson and Chance Point each added a hit.

Nichols allowed just one earned run on two hits in just under four innings of work. He struck out five batters.

Softball
Unaka 17, Hampton 1
Unaka rolled to a win over Hampton on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Rangers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first and added three runs in the second. Hampton kept battling but was unable to answer Unaka late.

Haley Taylor went 4-for-4 for the Lady Rangers, while Alisha Harrell, Taylor Grindstaff, and Mollie Buckles went 3-for-4 at the plate.

Kimberly Profitt allowed one unearned run on five hits.

Hannah Smith led Hampton with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate, while Maleah Scalf, Briley Davis, Mallory Lamb, and Lacey Smith each had a hit for the Lady Bulldogs.

West Ridge 5, Elizabethton 2
The Lady Cyclones were unable to rally late at West Ridge.

EHS saw Lela Byrd and Addy Campbell go 2-for-3 at the plate, while Mollie Johnson and Jozey Reece each had an RBI.

In the pitching circle, Byrd allowed four unearned runs on two hits with seven strikeouts in 4.2 innings of work.
