KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Gatlinburg-Pittman High School head football coach Brad Waggoner has accepted the same position at Blountstown High School in Blountstown, Florida.

“I want to thank this community and everyone here that has taken my family in and been so good to us,” Waggoner said in a post on X.

Waggoner coached three seasons at GP. The Highlanders were 29-9 during his tenure. They also made it to the state quarterfinals in the 2022 and 2023 seasons eventually falling to Alcoa in both seasons.

“I want to thank each player I had the opportunity to coach,” said Waggoner. “You guys are the reason GP is so special. Will never forget winning the region the past year with you guys.”
