West Creek football coach Rob Gallowitz has resigned, he announced Wednesday.

In a statement posted to X, formerly Twitter, Gallowitz said he accepted a real estate job.

"While I contemplated doing both, I was fearful that one or the other would take a backseat and that wasn't the standard I wanted to set for my employer or student-athletes," he said.

Gallowitz was 8-13 in two seasons at West Creek. This season, the Coyotes reached the Class 6A playoffs, earning their second TSSAA playoff berth and first since 2010. Prior to Gallowitz's hire, West Creek had won just 28 games in 13 seasons.

Before becoming the Coyotes' coach, Gallowitz served as their defensive coordinator for two seasons under James Figueroa. A Clarksville native who attended Austin Peay, Gallowitz was an assistant coach at West Creek from 2012-14 and at Clarksville under Isaac Shelby from 2015-19.

"I absolutely love this program and what it has and will become," Gallowitz said. "I cannot wait to see what the future holds for West Creek Football!"

West Creek is the third Montgomery County program to have its football coaching position come open this offseason. Both the other two vacancies, Montgomery Central and Northwest, have been filled.

Montgomery Central hired Sycamore assistant Wyatt Page to replace Corey Wright, while Northwest hired former assistant Mark Hall to replace Reynaldo Pena.
