A North Greene potential game-tying 3-pointer was shot just after the buzzer, TSSAA officials ruled Wednesday.

The late shot preserved a 53-50 Santa Fe win in the TSSAA boys basketball state tournament Class 1A quarterfinals over the East Tennessee school.

Video of the shot confirmed it was released after the red light came on, confirming it was late.

Santa Fe's win came from behind when the Wildcats made a late rally. Two Auden Slaughter free throws gave Santa Fe a 53-50 lead with one second left.

North Greene's Tyler Britton heaved the ball to half court where Santa Fe’s Macon Adkison contested Lance Carrico for the pass, tipping it to North Greene teammate Jason Britton, who immediately launched and drilled a three. The basket was immediately waved off by the TSSAA official closest to Britton, ending the game.

Santa Fe (26-5) advances to the TSSAA Class 1A semifinals, where the Wildcats will play Chattanooga Prep (25-6). The state tournament win comes in Santa Fe's first state tournament appearance.
