The Loudon High School and Junior Bass fishing teams recently competed in the first of two national bass tournaments held on Douglas Lake in mid-March. While most of Loudon’s boats came back without a bite, two boats were recognized on the main stage.

“Max Clabough and his partner Parker (Fox) — they had three fish for a little over four pounds, I believe,” Loudon head coach Charlie Brown said. “Of course, they didn’t place very high, but any chance to walk the stage in a national event like that is pretty impressive.
