Lincoln County tennis coach in 16th year

For the boys, the lead man will be reigning two-time district champion in singles Jackson Porter. The junior is the only returning starter to the lineup card from last year’s team.

The loss of most of the starting lineup makes for a “semi-rebuilding” season, according to Coach Brown. He’s looking for a pair of junior varsity players from last year’s team to step up.

The two with the added workload are Noah Gibson and Talen McMeen, who competed for the junior varsity district championship with Gibson winning.

On the girls’ side, Coach Brown returns four all-district players to the lineup: seniors Maggie Franklin, Allie Grace Newton and Olivia Swindall, and junior Kate Pierce.

With his top four set, the only question for Coach Brown is, “who will occupy the five spot in the lineup.” That spot is up for grabs for the remaining 17 players on the girls’ roster.
