A three-run seventh inning wasn’t enough for the White County Warriors Friday as they fell to Sequatchie County in non-district baseball action, 4-3.
White County starting pitcher Trenton Wilson held the Indians scoreless through 5 innings before Sequatchie County scored three runs in the top of the sixth to take a 3-0 lead. The Indians tacked on another in the top of the seventh to take a 4-0 advantage.
The Warriors rallied with two outs in the bottom of the seventh as a Kason Seal single to center scored Austin Pionke followed by a bases-clearing single from Eli Smith to bring Sparta within one run at 4-3. White County had the game-tying run at third base before Sequatchie County recorded the final out to preserve their 4-3 victory.
White County falls to 3-5 overall and is scheduled to play at Warren County on Saturday, weather permitting.
