The Franklin County Rebelettes beat the Central Magnet Lady Tigers 17-6 at home on Thursday for their first win of the season.
Jocilyn DeSmet hit a trio of home runs to lead the offensive charge as the Rebelettes scored early and often to break into the win column.
The Rebelettes got off to a fast start with five runs in the bottom of the first as Alyssa Sherrill got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, Paislie Edge scored on a wild pitch and Jocilyn DeSmet hit a three-run home run in the frame.
The Lady Tigers hit a two-run home run in the top of the second to make up some ground early, but the Rebelettes followed that up with seven runs in the bottom of the second to pull further away.
Sherrill hit an RBI single, Kyleigh DeCamp scored on a wild pitch, Jocilyn DeSmet hit another three-run home run, Kaitlyn Montgomery scored on a wild pitch and Mollye Casey contributed an RBI single to put the score at 12-2.
The Lady Tigers scored one run in the third inning and three in the fourth to chip away at the deficit and make it a 12-6 game.
The Rebelettes resumed scoring in the bottom of the fourth with Natalie Hagood hitting an RBI doubled before later scoring on a wild pitch to bring the deficit back up to 14-6.
The Rebelettes wrapped up the game with two more home runs in the bottom of the fifth as a solo home run from Sherrill and a two-run shot by Jocilyn DeSmet sealed the 11-run victory.
Dalayna Marshall pitched the first four innings for the Rebelettes with one strikeout, five hits, five walks, two earned runs and four unearned runs allowed.
Kaylee Morris pitched the final inning in relief with one strikeout recorded, one walk issued and no hits or run allowed.
With the win, the Rebelettes improved to 1-8 on the season and 1-1 in district play.
They will next play Tuesday at home against Whitwell High School. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
