Bouncing back from a tough loss to county rival Walker Valley the day before, Bradley Central claimed a "run-rule" victory over Howard in District 6-4A play, at Bob McKenzie Field Thursday.
After falling into a 2-0 hole, the Bearettes exploded for 16 runs in three at bats to end the game early.
Bradley (5-6) played Franklin County, in Ooltewah after presstime Friday, and will host East Hamilton Tuesday before playing in the Choo Choo Classic next weekend.
Howard (0-5) opened the game with a single before M. Jackson (no first name provided) blasted a one-out, two-run shot over the fence.
Bradley answered with four runs in the bottom of the first, a half dozen more the next try and another four in the third.
The Bearettes exploded for 13 hits, including Kaylee Callahan going 3-for-3 and draw a walk, plus the sophomore drove in four runs and circled the sacks twice.
Freshman leadoff hitter My'Ryah Greenwood also reached four times with a double, single and two free passes, plating a trio of teammates, swiping a couple of bases and completed the circle thrice.
Ninth-grader Evaney Longwith also had a trio of "ribbies" while going 3-for-3 and getting "plunked" once, coming around to score twice.
Sophomore Alliyssia Herbold helped out with a double and a single to drive home a pair, plus she completed the circle twice.
Freshman Landry Johnson reached base three times with a pair of walks and "taking one for the team." She also scored a run and drove one in.
Sophomore Miley Broom completed the circuit twice after reaching on a pair of free passes.
Getting the job done in the circle, as well as at the dish, sophomore Gracie Ownby tossed a three-hitter, striking out seven and walking just one.
She helped her own cause going 2-for-2, plus drew a walk, drove home a couple of teammates and scored three times herself.
